Bentley & Co. Limited was established in 1981 by Jim Bentley. It is a professional services consultancy specialising in town planning and resource management matters. The practice has particular experience in providing advice and services relating to consenting and other regulatory processes under the Resource Management Act for major capital projects. This includes the analysis of district plan objectives, policies and rules in relation to particular development sites and land holdings, the preparation of applications for resource consent and the management of the administrative process, the preparation of plan change applications, the review of proposed plan changes and preparation of submissions, and preparation and presentation of evidence for both Council and Environment Court hearings.
The practice has also worked on smaller projects including planning for schools, network retailing, service stations, restaurants, churches, entertainment facilities, car parking facilities, residential developments, coastal developments, rural development and subdivisions.
